This writing assignment involves writing your Argumentative essay. Once you draft your essay and revise, you may submit it for feedback. The feedback will help you write the final draft; your final draft will be graded. Option #1: Your Position on Pirated Movies

Develop a thesis statement on the topic of pirated movies (consequences for those who distribute them, what should be done to stop pirated movies, etc.) and write an argumentative essay. Use a variety of sources, such as books, articles, and websites, to support your thesis. Include paraphrase, summaries, and/or direct quotations in your argumentative research paper. Address at least one counterargument from your opposition. Use the MLA format to create proper parenthetical citations as well as a Works Cited page at the end of your essay.

Option #2: Your Position on Electronic Policing  

Develop a thesis statement on the topic of electronic policing and anti-plagiarism software, and write an argumentative essay. Your chosen topic needs to be specific, such as these examples:

·         Should student writers be subject to having their work checked by anti-plagiarism software? Why or why not?

·         Is anti-plagiarism software an effective deterrent to stealing published work? Why or why not?

You may choose another topic regarding electronic policing as well. Use a variety of sources, such as books, articles, and websites, to support your thesis. Include paraphrase, summaries, and/or direct quotations in your argumentative research paper. Address at least one counterargument from your opposition.
