At this point, you are required to evaluate and interpret the literature related to the mental illness you have selected. Synthesize the literature and write a 5–7 page draft of your scholarly paper. Include the following subheadings in your draft: Abstract: Introduce the selected mental illness, including prevalence, theoretical etiologies, and course. Mental illness: Describe in details the mental illness which you have selected. Include diagnostic criteria, prevalence, possible causes, prognosis, any common co-occurring disorders, differential diagnostic issues, and any cultural issues related to the diagnosis or course of the disorder. Treatment: Write in detail the comparison of the approach you witnessed and your planned approach along with the scholarly literature for the selected mental illness. Review the approaches you witnessed first then detail your planned treatment. Reference page: List the scholarly resources you have used. This should include recent peer-reviewed journal articles and scholarly texts on your selected mental illness.

Provide references and examples to support your suggested treatment. Follow APA guidelines for writing and citing sources. All written assignments and responses should follow APA rules for attributing sources.

Summarized the literature and identify which approach is supported by the empirical evidence. Provided any potential adverse side effects to treatments as well as any cultural concerns which may hinder treatment. Discussed the success rates for treatment approaches as well as the underlying psychological theories for treatment programs. Offered an opinion as to how well the treatment approaches used at the facility you toured matches the types of treatments described in the literature.
