Traditional and Contemporary Theories and Models
The Discussions in this course include several components. You may not be able to address all of these topics in a single post. You will need to plan to return to the Discussion several times during the week to weigh in on the topics. Please make sure you do so as part of both original posts as well as in replies to your classmates. Remember that your grade for the Discussion Board comprises both original postings and your contributions through replies. Both are great places to introduce new information, opinions, links, etc., and both are equally important to your grade.
In this Discussion, you will create a comparison chart that compares traditional and contemporary adult learning theories and models that are affected by emerging issues. You will create this chart within a shared Google Presentation.
Your instructor will post the link to go to the Google Presentation, so you can read the directions, select your slide, and start your comparison chart. Then, once you complete the Google presentation slide, return to this Discussion.
Now that you have identified traditional and contemporary adult learning theories and models affected by emerging issues, you will select one of your traditional and contemporary theories or models and post the answers to the following:
- Explain how your emerging issue affected the theory or model.
- How do you think your selected emerging issue will change in the next 5–10 years?
- Explain how your contemporary theory or model would change as your selected emerging issue changes in the next 5–10 years?
- If you were an adult educator, explain three ways you and your peer would change your teaching methods, practices, and instructional plans to include contemporary theories and models for your selected emerging issues.
