Assess the areas of growth in informatics research from the informatics pioneers you researched last week to the individuals you read about this week, and the ways in which health informatics has continued to evolve.

Great discoveries can transform the world. In 400 BC, Hippocrates theorized that the body was composed of four “humors”—blood, phlegm, black bile, and yellow bile. Now think of the impact of the seminal work of William Harvey, who, in the 1600s, accurately described the circulation system and the role of the heart for the first time. It was not until the early 1900s that the Austrian biologist Karl Landsteiner identified four distinct blood groups. Today, knowledge about the nature and properties of blood is so complicated that the entire field of blood chemistry is devoted to its study.

This same type of expansion of knowledge within a scientific field is mirrored within the field of informatics. As new technologies develop, subsequent changes occur in the fiel that are, built upon the earlier work of others. In this Discussion, you examine the continuing evolution of the field of health informatics and assess how researchers built on the work of preceding scientists.

You will focus on the following individuals:

Joan Ash
Nancy Lorenzi
Ben Shneiderman
Diane Forsythe
Chuck Friedman
Sue Bakken
Patty Brennan
Diane Skiba
Danny Sands
Lucian Leape
To prepare:

Select and read at least one article from this week’s Learning Resources for at least five individuals listed above.
Consider how the work of each individual has built upon the work of earlier pioneers in the informatics field.
Assess the areas of growth in informatics research from the informatics pioneers you researched last week to the individuals you read about this week, and the ways in which health informatics has continued to evolve.
Select one individual from this week you found to be of particular interest, and read at least one additional article written by him or her from the list provided in the Learning Resources.
Conduct further research to determine recent contributions or additions to the individual’s research.

I am a community health nurse that deals with diabetic foot ulcers. this can be informal but still APA format for references in the paper. it is more of a discussion format. I have added the above requirements for the assignment. If you have to leave one article out I would go with the leadership matching but this one may help relate the theory to nursing practice.

Identify and limit your audience. Knowing who your target audience is and how to find them is crucial to your success.

Identify and limit your audience. Knowing who your target audience is and how to find them is crucial to your success.

Chooseoneofthefollowing, andwriteasalesletteraddressedtoanappropriate reader on why he or she should
a. work for the same company you do b. move to your neighborhood

c. take a vacation where you did last year d. dine at a particular restaurant

e. use a particular cell phone service

f. have a car repaired at a specific garage

g. use the services of a particular real estate agency

h. use your company’s new website when ordering replacement parts

please on time.

i give you some descriptions of sales letter. you can write as them.

1. Identify and limit your audience. Knowing who your target audience is and how to find them is crucial to your success. You will also have to determine how many people are in your audience. A sales letter may be written to just one person (Figure 6.3) or to hundreds of readers at different companies (Figure 6.4).

2. Use reader psychology. Think like your reader and ask: “What am I trying to do for the customer?” Ask that question before you begin writing and you will be using effective reader psychology. Appeal to readers’ health, security, convenience, comfort, or finances by focusing on the right issues (for instance, inform buyers that your product research involves no animal testing). Note that Patrice St. Jacques appeals to the reader’s ethnic and community values in Figure 6.3.

3. Don’t be a bore or boast. Save elaborate explanations about a product for after the sale. Put detailed documentation in instruction booklets, in warranties, or on your company’s website. Further, do not turn your sales letter into a glowing commendation of your company or yourself. Figures 6.3 and 6.4 both avoid that.

4. Use words that appeal to the reader’s senses. Choose concrete words instead of abstract, vague ones. Find verbs that are colorful, that put the reader in the pic- ture, so to speak. You will have a greater chance of selling readers if they can hear, see, taste, or touch your product in their mind. That way they can visualize them- selves buying or using your product or service. Note how St. Jacques fills the sales letter in Figure 6.3 with Caribbean sights, sounds, and tastes to appeal to Etienne Abernathy and his company.

5. Be ethical. Avoid untruths, exaggerations, distortions, false comparisons, and unsupported generalizations. Honesty is the best way to make a sale. Never make false claims about the cost, safety, or adaptability of your product or service. You could be prosecuted for mail fraud or sued for misrepresentation. (Review pages 40–42 in Chapter 1.) In addition, never attack a competitor and always get permission before you include an endorsement.

Select two advertisements and describe the needs identified by Abraham Maslow that each ad addresses.
Assignment Two

Chapter 3 & 4

Motivation is the inward drive we have to get what we need. In the mid-1900s, Abraham Maslow, an
American psychologist, developed the hierarchy of needs shown in Figure 3.4.
1. Select two advertisements and describe the needs identified by Abraham Maslow that each ad addresses.

2. Analyze the advertisement using the concepts of marking and consumer segmentation, and discuss how it aligns to the organization’s mission.

3. Find an international version of an advertisement for one of the products.

4. What differences do you detect in the international version of the ad? How did the underlying aspects of marketing and psychology utilized in the advertisement change?

Note: Please review my expectations for the assignment. I expect your response to include 2 or more references from the APUS Library system (failure to include such references will detract from your grade on the assignment), and be presented in APA Format. Deliverable length is a minimum of 2 body pages.
