Development Exercises will help you to gain insight into the systematic development of effective evaluation plans.

The Test Development Exercises will help you to gain insight into the systematic development of effective evaluation plans. The exercises will acquaint you with the process of designing tests to assess student achievement in academic and clinical settings.

For this week’s assignment, you will develop a test blueprint. Revisit the lesson plan that you developed in NSG6003. If you have not taken that course, search the Internet and locate a lesson plan in the nursing setting of your choice. Based on this lesson plan, you are required to develop a test blueprint for the learning outcomes that you expect your learners to achieve. You should clearly mention the goals, learning objectives, and the test elements for each of the learning outcomes defined in your lesson plan. Please see the example below to help you in constructing the Test Blueprint, using the stated formulas to determine how many questions will be needed in each Bloom’s Taxonomy cognitive domain for each objective.

Directions and Example

You need to include an introduction from your lesson plan from NSG6003, including the learning goal(s) and learning objectives or from a lesson plan located on the Internet. You need to state the number of test items for the entire test (minimum of 50 questions) then add the different test formats (multiple choice, T/F, essay, etc.) you will use for your test, then give an example of each of the test questions (not the entire test) that will be used to evaluate the different levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy in the body of your paper.

Assignment 2: Human Resources and Staffing Crisis at Blumberg’s Nursing Home

Due Week 10 and worth 250 points

Blumberg’s Nursing Home (BNH) is a 100-bed Medicare and Medicaid certified facility in suburban Philadelphia, PA. The administrator recently terminated the facility’s Director of Nursing (DON), receptionist, and dietary aid for inappropriate conduct. They had all been involved in purchasing and using illegal substances on facility grounds. Facility staff, as well as many of the more lucid residents, have found out about the incident.

The charge nurse has been appointed interim DON. The human resource manager has sent a memo to all staff informing them of a mandatory staff meeting to discuss BNH’s code of ethics and to provide additional training on workplace culture. Because federal law requires that there be at least one (1) registered nurse on duty for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, and that the DON must be a registered nurse (RN) – which the interim DON is not – BNH is out of compliance.

Write a four to six (4-6) page paper in which you:

Assess the immediate staffing needs at BNH. Prioritize the order in which BNH should fill the main unstaffed position(s). Justify your selection(s).
Considering the reason behind the termination of the employees, formulate a human resources policy that addresses inappropriate conduct in the workplace, the process of reporting inappropriate conduct, and the consequences of violating the policy. Explain your rationale.
Per the text, an effective long-term care facility administrator must have both leadership and management skills. Propose at least one (1) way the administrator in this case must demonstrate quality leadership skills, and one (1) way the administrator must demonstrate quality management skills in the aftermath of this crisis so as to improve and maintain staff and resident morale.
Recommend a strategy for BNH to use the Quality Indicator Survey to improve administrative practices and ensure future compliance at the facility. Justify your recommendation.
Use at least three (3) quality academic resources. Note: Wikipedia and other similar websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

Differentiate the administrative functions of long-term care practices from those of other healthcare administrative services.
Identify the factors that have led to the current realities of long-term care in the United States.
Assess the various stakeholder groups of long-term care along with the nature of the relationship(s).
Recommend how a company can use the Quality Indicator Survey to improve administrative practices.
Use technology and information resources to research issues in long-term care management.
Write clearly and concisely about long-term care management using proper writing mechanics

Do companies today take culture, as defined in Unit 1, into proper account and balance it along with other aspects of productivity? Why or why not?

Do companies today take culture, as defined in Unit 1, into proper account and balance it along with other aspects of productivity? Why or why not?

The Discussion Board (DB) is part of the core of online learning. Classroom discussion in an online environment requires the active participation of students and the instructor to create robust interaction and dialogue. Every student is expected to create an original response to the open-ended DB question as well as engage in dialogue by responding to posts created by others throughout the week. At the end of each unit, DB participation will be assessed based on both level of engagement and the quality of the contribution to the discussion.

At a minimum, each student will be expected to post an original and thoughtful response to the DB question and contribute to the weekly dialogue by responding to at least two other posts from students. The first contribution must be posted before midnight (Central Time) on Wednesday of each week. Two additional responses are required after Wednesday of each week. Students are highly encouraged to engage on the Discussion Board early and often, as that is the primary way the university tracks class attendance and participation.

The purpose of the Discussion Board is to allow students to learn through sharing ideas and experiences as they relate to course content and the DB question. Because it is not possible to engage in two-way dialogue after a conversation has ended, no posts to the DB will be accepted after the end of each unit.

Assignment Requirements

Focus your discussion on the following:

Do companies today take culture, as defined in Unit 1, into proper account and balance it along with other aspects of productivity? Why or why not?
Provide two specific instances from your experience and from academic literature to support your response. Be sure to include APA-formatted references in your response for sources you use to support the explanations and arguments.
How can an individual sustain and grow a healthy and useful culture in the areas of music, literature, art, theater, education, or religion?
Which area(s) of the humanities should be emphasized? Why?
What is the role of the individual versus the role of government in sustaining and building a healthy and robust culture through the humanities?
What is the role of educational institutions in shaping and encouraging specific cultural and humanities concepts alongside the emphasis on knowledge and facts?

Explain the definition and scope of practice for APRNs according to the Nurse Practice Act in your state.

Explain the definition and scope of practice for APRNs according to the Nurse Practice Act in your state.

Although your roles and responsibilities may differ based on your practice setting (think emergency department versus inpatient hospital setting or outpatient specialty medicine clinic), they may also vary depending on the state in which you practice. Because each state has its own laws and regulations that determine the scope of practice for advanced practice nurses, it is your responsibility to understand your own state’s guidelines. This Assignment involves locating the Nurse Practice Act for your state and reviewing practice guidelines, licensing requirements, and the certification process.

To prepare:

Locate the Nurse Practice Act for your state, as well as any other state legislation that outlines practice for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). Reflect on the definition and scope of practice of the APRN according to your state.
Consider which state board is responsible for licensure of APRNs. Determine whether your state requires nursing board approval, board of medicine approval, or joint board approval for APRN practice.
Consider the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Drug Schedule categories approved for APRN prescribing. Think about how this might impact your clinical practice.
Research the national certifying board options and application processes for the Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Think about which exams are recognized by your state board and which board options best suit your professional needs.
To Complete:

Address the following in a 1- to 2-page paper:

Explain the definition and scope of practice for APRNs according to the Nurse Practice Act in your state.
Identify the state board that is responsible for licensure of APRNs.
Identify the DEA Drug Schedule categories approved for APRN prescribing in your state. Explain whether this might impact your clinical practice, and if so, explain how.
Identify which national certifying board options are recognized by your state board. Explain which options best suit your professional needs and why. Describe the application processes for these options.

Assignment 2: Intake Interview Analysis

As we have discussed, interviewing skills can be used in a wide variety of settings. Let us now turn our focus to how those skills may be applied. Think of a career you are interested in pursuing after you complete your degree. If you are not certain about what type of career you may pursue, think about a career you would like to learn more about such as marriage and family therapist, school counselor, or human resource manager. You can also visit: http://www.bls.gov/oco/, where you can view the Occupational Handbook in order to get information about different career choices.

With your career choice in mind, think of a social service agency, healthcare agency, business, educational institution, or government agency that you would potentially be employed at that could make use of a counseling /clinical interview. In a 2-3 page paper, describe the organization you selected and then discuss the value and advantages of an intake interview for the organization. What situation would it be used in? Why would an intake or counseling interview be a good choice for this organization? What ethical issues may arise in this specific situation and how could they be addressed? Be sure to use APA formatting, and address each topic listed above and, as appropriate, cite the online course, the textbook, and other credible, scholarly sources to substantiate the points you are making.

Submit your assignment to the M4: Assignment 2 Dropbox.

What interpersonal skills do you think are necessary to have when working with your clients?
Assume the role of a case manager at a correctional institution.

A university professor has asked you to speak to her class about your experiences as a case manager. To prepare for the visit, she has sent you the following questions, which the students will ask you:

What interpersonal skills do you think are necessary to have when working with your clients?
How does the prison environment influence the way you manage a case?
What is case management assessment and case management goal setting? Is there a relationship between the two?
What factors do you consider when doing an intervention plan? How do you go about its implementation?
How do you utilize resources available within the correctional institution?
With your experience as a case manager, what do you think are some issues within the criminal justice system as they pertain to case management?
Write 150 word responses to each question, responding as you would to the students during an interview.

Use at least two peer-reviewed articles from the University Library to support your responses.
