Examine the information for the nursing home carefully by clicking on the tabs at the top. Look for information that answers the following questions.
General information: What is the overall rating of the facility?
Health and fire safety inspections: What is the total number of health deficiencies for the facility and how does this compare to state and national averages?
Staffing: What is the total number of licensed nurse staff hours per resident per day?
Quality measures: How did short term and long term residents fare while under the care of this facility compare with state and national averages on measures of health and mental wellness?
Penalties: Has the facility been fined in the past 3 years? If so, how much was the fine?
After reviewing the summary data about your selected nursing home, click on the Health and fire safety inspections tab. Locate the Health Inspection Summary section and find the date of standard health inspection. Click on the View Full Report link next to the inspection date. The report that appears lists all deficiencies along with the impact of each deficiency. Each item begins with a plan of correction written in bold text. Read through the deficiencies of your chosen facility to get an idea of what inspectors are looking for (after reading through it, you may very well wonder what they ARENT looking for). Save the inspection report to PDF (located near the top right of the screen) and submit this report with your assignment.
