Legal Considerations/Burnout

What are the primary legal considerations that every human service worker must be aware of? How do these legalities help to protect us and our clients? Although many of you may not have experienced job stress or burnout within a human service agency, you may have experienced something similar in another aspect of your life.  Discuss your experiences and how you have coped with stress in the past.  Analyze some of the recommendations for avoiding burnout included in your readings and discuss some that you might want to implement for yourself in the future. 

Do any of the theories that you have read up to this point in the course apply in America today? If so, explain the theories that do apply and if not, explain those that do not apply. Be specific in your response.

The Christian understanding of the person is that we are physically, psychosocially and spiritually integrated sexual, moral and mortal beings, created in God’s image to live in relationship with God and others and as responsible stewards of the environment. If nurses lose sight of this understanding of human worth and human life, our profession will cease to exist, for there will no longer be any reason to provide nursing care. (Shelly & MIller, 2006)

Imago dei according to the Christian concept is that we were created by the Creator, we reflect this God and God gives us a position of responsibility and authority over the rest of creation. (Shelly & Miller, 2006) This concept is relevant to health care because, “nursing works with people . . . and as such it is concerned with human welfare. To be concerned with human welfare is to act out of a belief in the worth of the individual and the worth of life.” (Shelly & MIller, 2006)

We learn how to be like God by looking at Jesus Christ and his ways. We ultimately learn by experiences and interactions but these interactions should be guided by the example set onto us by God. God showed his love through ethical conduct and compassionate actions. If we ae an image of God then we too should show our love to our patients with ethical conduct and compassionate actions. We should live with a purpose to provide love, care and healing to the communities that we serve without persecution.

What we believe about human beings will determine how we treat one another.

Assignment 2: Research Paper Part 1 – The Foundation

If you have ever asked a question, wondered why something is as it is, or tried to understand an event, you have engaged in research. For this assignment, you will create the first part of your research paper. You should use the headings below for the sections of your paper.

For this assignment, you will craft the framework of your research using the articles you collected and summarized from Assignment 1 and / or other articles you found that relate to your research topic. Assignments 2, 3, and 4 will all build on each other to create one comprehensive research paper. Each time you submit an assignment, your instructor will provide feedback that you can use moving forward with the other parts of the research paper.

Write a five (5) page paper in which you:

1. Describe the:
   1. Introduction to your topic.
   2. Purpose of your research.
   3. Problem statement.
2. Summarize the literature you collected related to your topic.
3. Identify the:
   1. Gap(s) in the literature.
   2. Research question or hypotheses of your topic.
   3. Proposed theory for your research.
4. Include at least six (6) peer-reviewed quantitative or qualitative articles related to your topic.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

• Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
• Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
