high quality post from a content perspective

you also have to have a high quality post from a content perspective. This means it also needs to do more than agree with or praise a class mate. If you agree with a classmate, explain why, give an example, share what you learned in the reading

Military spouses is a professional journal I would love to present my proposal. This is where I think the change needs to start at and focus on. This journal is not necessarily a professional journal but it reaches many military spouses who can use the information to help facilitate the changes needed in the military healthcare system. The VA also has many healthcare conferences throughout the United States and has specific committees specifically for PTSD and mental wellness so this might be a good option to propose a change to survey questions and how we address PTSD in the military community. I was very disappointed in our last base when the month of June is designated by the Department of Defense (DOD) and there was only a small announcement that is was PTSD awareness month. There were no presentations, conferences, health fairs etc. so this should also be addressed with the PTSD committee.

Another professional journal is the Journal for Professional Nursing, this journal reaches a wider range audience and will be important to incorporate the civilian world with the military. It is hard for civilians to understand the military medical issues and vice versa. Military members get a huge shell shock when they retire or separate from the military and do not understand how the health care system works in the civilian world.

Healthcare Resource Allocation & Policy Making

Order Description

ASSIGNMENT:

Please describe the process you plan to use to conduct research, identify findings, and develop the Comprehensive Project due in Unit 5 and present a brief outline

indicating how you intend to organize the project deliverable. Please review the process and outlines of other students, providing objective feedback that will help

strengthen the effectiveness of their efforts and the quality of the finished product.

THIS IS UNIT 5 Project to use a a reference only:
Quality Improvement in the Health Care Organization Accreditation

The mandate for improving the way in which health care is delivered was stimulated by the public outcry over the estimated 98,000 deaths because of medical errors each

year, according to the Institute of Medicine in 1999. Since then, health care organizations have sought means by which the public can be reassured that they were

meeting quality and safety standards. Accreditation agencies (such as JCAHO) and quality awards (such as the Consumer Choice Award, Reuters 100 Top Hospitals,

HealthGrades, National Committee for Quality Assurance, Malcolm Baldridge Award, Magnet Status, and other memberships) provide a means for the public to evaluate where

the agency is meeting minimum standards.
You have been assigned by your manager to determine which accrediting agencies or quality improvement programs your hospital will utilize in its upcoming revenue

cycle. Your hospital is a magnet hospital in a large urban area that provides multilayered services. You have previously used JCAHO for your accreditation but feel

that you might be better served by using another accreditation body. You have three months in which to gather data and present the information to your manager.

Choose 3 quality improvement/accreditation related programs to consider in replacing JCAHO for your organization, and briefly describe them. Note: Your agency accepts

Medicare and Medicaid payments; therefore, you will need to explore, as background, the conditions of participation for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

(CMS). This is important information because you will need to compare your list of accrediting agencies and quality improvement programs with the conditions of

participation to see if they meet the criteria.
Analyze the costs and benefits of each quality improvement/accreditation related program by stakeholder group (e.g., patient, provider, and third-party payer).
Rank order your quality improvement/accreditation related program suggestions with rationale.

Explain the difference between negative and positive selection isolation methods according to MACS protocols.

Explain the difference between negative and positive selection isolation methods according to MACS protocols.

1st Assignment (30 Points)

Covers Material Presented in Units 1-3

Section I. (20 Points Total)

The following Topics 1-3 (of 4) cover the cell isolation protocols from Units 1 & 2: Assigned Appendix readings; Isolation of human monocytes by double gradient centrifugation; the Rosette Sep ™ isolation method; and protocols using MACs technology. Your answers should explain the main techniques in your own words. For example: In this protocol the T cells were isolated by incubating them with a CD3-specific antibody that was conjugated with biotin. Following incubation, the excess antibody was removed by washing with buffer and centrifugation. Common protocol details, such as speeds and duration of centrifugation, are not required (e.g., Spin the cells for 30 minutes at 3,000 RPM).

Topic 1. (10 points) Monocyte Isolation

(2 points) What is a buffy coat? How is it acquired?
(2 pts) In the monocyte isolation assay it is mentioned that heparinized peripheral blood can be substituted for buffy coats. What is heparin? Explain why the peripheral blood is heparinized.
(4 points) In the monocyte isolation assay, they authors state that the “resulting resting macrophages…are still capable of responding in either an M1 or M2-like fashion.” Do a little research and explain: 1) what do the authors mean by “resting macrophages” and 2) what are the functional differences between M1 and M2 macrophages.
(2 points) The monocyte isolation used two types of isolation procedures to enrich the final macrophage population (i.e., remove other cell types such as lymphocytes). The first is density gradient. What is the second?

Topic 2. (5points) RosetteSep isolation method (Be sure to watch the video)

In the RosetteSep isolation method, RBCs were not removed before isolation of the cell type of interest.

(2 pts) Explain how the RBCs played an important role in the isolation protocol.
(3 pts) Explain the biological mechanisms involved: find out what is contained in a particular RosetteSep solution and explain the function of the different components within the solution.

Topic 3. (5 points) MACS Technology:

(3 pts) Explain the difference between negative and positive selection isolation methods according to MACS protocols.

(2 pts) In the MACs eosinophil isolation protocol why were the pelleted RBCs lysed after Ficoll-Paque™ gradient cell separation rather than simply discarded after the first centrifugation?

Section III. (10 Points) Antibodies for Research and Diagnostic Tools

The following questions are based on Magic Bullets and Monoclonals, FASEB Break Throughs in Bioscience; Appendix I, A-5—A12;

Topic 1. (3 points)

Contrast and compare the work of Koch and his “postulates” and the work of Behring that identified the existence of antibodies. How was Behring’s work similar and dissimilar to the work of Robert Koch that resulted in Koch’s development of his “postulates”?

Choose a case study and analyze an ethical dilemma within it, based on the application of ethical principles.

Choose a case study and analyze an ethical dilemma within it, based on the application of ethical principles.

Please follow specific guidelines-this is a VERY difficult instructor- do not offer if not able to create original ON TOPIC work- see below for case study chosen:

In this assessment, you will choose a case study and analyze an ethical dilemma within it, based on the application of ethical principles. Think of this ethical analysis as a report you would make in a professional context.

Instructions
Write a 6–8-page report in which you complete the following:

Create a title page: Write a title that reflects the purpose of your work. It is suggested that you use the APA Paper Template, linked in the Resources under the Suggested Resources heading, to format your paper according to the APA manual (sixth edition).
Write an introduction: For the introduction section of your paper, include the title at the top of the first page and begin your introduction two spaces beneath your title. (In APA format, the word Introduction is not used as a heading.) Briefly summarize:
The ethical issue in the case you have chosen.
How professional standards and other resources, in general terms, point toward solutions.
How the issue in general relates to larger societal problems.
Create a heading titled Applied Ethical Principles and Standards: Use the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct to assess which of them relate to the particular ethical issue in this case, and analyze how they do so.
Create a heading titled Alternative Solutions:
Brainstorm several alternatives for resolving the ethical dilemma in the case. Thoroughly analyze the possible ramifications for at least three alternatives. Then, choose a course of action.
Explain your chosen course of action and support it based on both ethical principles and current psychological research (within the past decade).
Create a heading titled Conclusion: Briefly summarize the importance of the problem and make a compelling appeal for implementation of your action plan.
Keep in mind that, while your writing must conform to APA standards, you must explain all information in a manner that can be easily understood by a nonacademic or nonscientific audience.

Refer to the Ethical Issue and Action Plan Scoring Guide to ensure that you meet the grading criteria for this assessment.
