Summarize the patient history, explaining key patient demographics and family history that could be risk factors for common diseases.

Summarize the patient history, explaining key patient demographics and family history that could be risk factors for common diseases.

Overview: Your final project for this course will be a patient record analysis. You will apply the knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology that you have developed during this course in a thorough review of existing patient information in the Final Project Patient File. Specifically, you will review a patient’s history and a discharge chart from a recent physician visit, explaining the reasons behind diagnosis (or diagnoses) based on documented symptoms, citing any inconsistencies or concerns, and discussing the potential and current treatments, all in preparation for your future coding practices.

For this milestone, you will review the patient history file and discuss what it tells you. Discriminating between signs and symptoms, primary diagnoses, secondary diagnoses, and differential diagnoses, discuss what the findings are.

Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Patient History Analysis

a) Summarize the patient history, explaining key patient demographics and family history that could be risk factors for common diseases.
b) Identify the past diagnosis (or diagnoses, if more than one exists in the file) and explain how the diagnosis was made. Specifically, what tests
were done?

c) Discuss the symptoms the patient showed according to the file. Why and how did these symptoms lead the doctors to order certain tests?
d) What alternate diagnosis (or diagnoses) could these symptoms have indicated? Explain using evidence-based resources to support your
conclusions.

e) Using supportive details from peer-reviewed resources, explain the pathophysiology of the diagnosis. In other words, how does the diagnosed
disease develop and progress in the body?

f) Identify the past prescribed medications the patient is taking and explain the purposes of their larger pharmacological groupings.
g) Explain what symptoms the specific medications are meant to treat, using resources to support your claims about the impact of the medication
on the symptoms.

h) Illustrate how these medications impact the body and its functions. Use examples to support your explanations.
Rubric

Guidelines for Submission: This milestone should be at least 2 pages in length and submitted as a Word document. All sources should be in APA format.

Instructor Feedback: This activity uses an integrated rubric in Blackboard. Students can view instructor feedback in the Grade Center. For more information, review these instructions.

The 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a landmark legislation that is considered by many to be the most significant advance in the United States healthcare policy since the passage of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965.

The 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a landmark legislation that is considered by many to be the most significant advance in the United States healthcare policy since the passage of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965.

However, the ACA is not without controversy stemming from opponents all along the political spectrum. Some believe the law has gone too far, others not far enough.

Aside of ACA, an alternative approach to healthcare delivery has been referred to as the “single-payer†system. Research the single-payer approach to healthcare delivery in the United States using your textbook, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet.

Address the following:

What are the strengths and challenges presented in this solution?
Identify any omissions in this solution and discuss how they should be addressed.
Identify any changes that you would suggest.
Based on your current situation in terms of healthcare coverage (insured by an employer, covered under a parent’s or spouse’s policy, receiving government benefits, uninsured, etc.), indicate how a single-payer plan would affect you personally. Also, indicate whether you are in favor of such an approach.

Why might the organization need to modify their existing code of ethics? Consider how you might modify the code if you were the new CEO and how you would implement the changes.

Why might the organization need to modify their existing code of ethics? Consider how you might modify the code if you were the new CEO and how you would implement the changes.

The purpose of this assignment is to assist you in refining problem-solving capabilities that organizations already possess for use in business ethics applications. This paper uses a structured, objective format sometimes called a system of inquiry. This assignment is a systematic formalized inquiry into, or examination of, the code of ethics of an organization and its effects to achieve a specific level of ethical behavior in employees, management, and executives. Each business should have a framework for ensuring ethical behavior. The structure, format, and scope of codes vary depending on the company’s business. An oil company’s code, for example, would probably have different criteria and emphases than a health care provider’s code of ethics. Sometimes, codes of ethics are called by other names, such as an employee code of conduct. A code of ethics, though, should be differentiated from standard good operating practices.

Evaluation and analysis includes problem solving and behavior in assessing organizational ethics along with decision-making processes. In this case, you are evaluating your own company’s code of ethics, or that of another company if your employer does not have a code of ethics.

Write a 1,200- to 1,400-word paper, one not using question-and-answer format, discussing your organization’s code of ethics in detail. Perform the following steps:

Obtain a copy of your employer’s code of ethics or find an example on the Internet from a major corporation, such as Shell Oil Company’s Statement of Ethics. This is the document upon which to base your inquiry.
Write a general information paragraph on the company, including its mission statement.
Determine the type of ethical system used by the firm and reasons or examples upon which you based your decisions. Ethical systems include ends-driven, relativistic, entitlement, and duty-driven (legal or religious) ethics.
Identify and discuss how the code of ethics is used. Include several paragraphs on each use: one for employees, one for management, one for the board of directors, and so forth. Some of this information comes from the company’s code of ethics. Others may be available through an Internet search. Consider the following:
Why it is used—the general or special circumstances
How it is used
When it is used
Note. You may not be able to find all the information. In that case, state this fact and indicate which sources were examined with no results.

Why might the organization need to modify their existing code of ethics? Consider how you might modify the code if you were the new CEO and how you would implement the changes.
What possible reactions to the code are to be expected from employees and managers? What effects does the organizational culture have on the acceptance of the code?
What is the effect of the code on the organization?
Summarize the results of your systematic analysis or inquiry into the code of ethics of this organization.
Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Prepare an introduction and use section headings identifying each of the steps with information and discussion following. Summarize your findings in the conclusion.
Do not include paragraphs directly from your company’s code. Summarize what is contained in the document. Your paper may contain no more than 15% unoriginal or quoted material.

Xiaomi Discussion Questions:

What are the major factors that contributed to Xiaomi becoming a leading smartphone company in the PRC?
What does Xiaomi’s rapid ascent mean for Apple and Samsung in China and globally? How are Apple and Samsung likely to react? What capabilities would Xiaomi need to develop to compete head-to-head with industry giants Apple and Samsung?
Should Xiaomi focus on competing with Apple and Samsung, or should they be more focused on competition with local Chinese rivals?
Xiaomi has been successful in China, but how will they fare in the global market? What obstacles are they likely to face? What capabilities will they need to develop to expand globally?
Xiaomi, Inc.: The Rise of a
Chinese Indigenous Competitor
Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.
Xiaomi Mantra
Xiaomi’s rapid rise is changing the smartphone landscape in China, and potentially the world. China rapidly surpassed the United States of America to become the world’s largest smartphone market in 2011. While industry giant Apple’s attention was focused on overtaking industry leader Samsung for the fast-growing China market, Xiaomi burst onto the mobile phone scene catching both giants off guard. In the five years since their founding in 2010, Xiaomi rose to be the world’s third largest smartphone company based on units shipped. South Korea- headquartered Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and U.S.-headquartered Apple Inc. are the holders of the first and second spots, respectively.
When founded, Xiaomi’s vision was to develop and sell software for mobile devices using the Android operating system. As the company evolved, Xiaomi grew into a mobile Internet and e-commerce company that contract-manufactures smartphones and compatible devices designed to offer a complete customer experience. Xiaomi, one of China’s relatively few indigenous innovators, has been a major disruptor in China’s lucrative mo- bile telecommunications industry, due in large part to their emphasis on continuous, incremental improvement.
The reputation of Xiaomi’s driven founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun, a Chinese serial entrepreneur and investor, is that he rarely rests. His reach in China’s high-tech sector is extensive, and his vision for Xiaomi ag- gressive. Lei stands out from many other Chinese IT leaders like Alibaba’s Jack Ma or Lenovo’s Yuanqing Yang; when he founded the company, he had no Western experience and did not speak English. To realize his vision, Lei surrounded himself with a world-class team of Chinese executives—and one prominent Western executive—with collective experience at top foreign IT firms like Google, Microsoft, Motorola, and Yahoo. This executive team complemented Lei and brought attributes that Lei lacked, in addition to considerable world-class IT experience.
Xiaomi was the 2014 leading smartphone vendor by shipments in China and the third largest smartphone manufacturer globally. Lei has come a long way from his youth in Xiantao, Hebei, to the helm of the most highly valued start-up in the world; yet, challenges remain for Lei and for Xiaomi. With more than 18 million handsets sold in China by 2013, and products launched regionally in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, and Indonesia, the company contemplated global expansion. Xiaomi had been very successful in China, but how would they fare in the global market? Would Xiaomi need to develop additional capabilities to compete head-to-head with industry giants Apple and Samsung? Given Lei’s extraordinary range of interests and activities, would he have the focus and bandwidth to lead Xiaomi to its future?
