What are the ethical principles and implications raised by legally mandating clients into treatment?

to have read all the required resources for this week. The use of mandated, or legally coerced, treatment is widespread. Yet research demonstrating the efficacy of this type of treatment is limited, and mandating mental health treatment is one of the most contested issues in the field of psychology. To justify the continued use of mandated treatment, policymakers, practitioners, and researchers are obligated to demonstrate the effectiveness and limitations of such treatment programs.

You have been called in to consult on cases that may require mandated treatment. After reviewing the PSY699 The ethics of mandated treatment scenarios, choose two to discuss in your initial post. Begin your research with the required resources for this week. Using the specific situations presented in each of the scenarios you have chosen, conduct further research to help inform your recommendations for each individual. A minimum of one resource per scenario, beyond those already required for the assignment, must be included in your initial post.

In your post, construct clear and concise arguments using evidence-based psychological concepts and theories to present your recommendations as to whether or not treatment should be mandated for the individuals in each of the scenarios. As you write your recommendations, be certain to provide insights into the following questions.

What are the ethical principles and implications raised by legally mandating clients into treatment?
What evidence exists regarding the effectiveness of treatment with and without coercion for this type of situation?
What would be the challenges in evaluating the effectiveness of mandated treatment?
How might mandated treatment impact your clinical decision making as the mental health professional assigned to these cases?
What client factors might limit or augment the potential benefits of treatment if it were mandated?
Integrating concepts from your research and the required readings, offer insights across different content domains as to why you have reached these conclusions. Explain how you used the APA Ethical Code of Conduct to guide your decisions. Evaluate the generalizability of your specific research findings to the situations presented and provide a rationale as to why this research supports your recommendations.

Determine two (2) specific forces in the external environment that will have the most impact on your organization. Provide a rationale for your decision.

Determine two (2) specific forces in the external environment that will have the most impact on your organization. Provide a rationale for your decision.

For all assignments assume that you are the administrator of a fictitious organization of your choice. The organization can be any type of health care organization such as a hospital, nursing home, rehabilitation center, clinic, etc. As the administrator, you are faced with the challenges of declining reimbursements from insurance providers and increasing demands for patient services due to dramatic changes in the external environment. Such changes include those imposed by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Your first step in evaluating the position of your organization will be conducting an environmental analysis. The purpose of this is to determine your organization’s ability to continue to provide quality care and remain financially solvent in the face of these challenges.

Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

Determine two (2) specific forces in the external environment that will have the most impact on your organization. Provide a rationale for your decision.
Determine two (2) specific internal factors that the organization’s leaders need to consider in preparing for the future of health care and the future of the organization. Provide a rationale for your decision.
Discuss the impact of both the identified internal and external forces on the organization’s ability to develop a competitive strategy.
Recommend one (1) strategy that involves the organization’s managers in implementing and maintaining the momentum of the strategic plan.
Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites to not qualify as academic resources.

Create a one-page patient education tool that explains usage of a medication and factors that can affect outcomes.

Create a one-page patient education tool that explains usage of a medication and factors that can affect outcomes.

Overview
Create a one-page patient education tool that explains usage of a medication and factors that can affect outcomes. Then, write 2–3 pages in which you explain how the tool promotes patient safety and quality outcomes, and adheres to the principles and practices of cultural competence.
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:
Competency 1: Apply practice guidelines and standards of evidence-based practice related to pharmacology for safe and effective nursing practice.
Explain the appropriate use of a medication.
Explain how a patient education tool promotes patient safety related to pharmacology.
Competency 2: Explain the relationship between quality patient outcomes, patient safety, and the appropriate use of pharmacology and psychopharmacology.
Identify specific factors that may affect the efficacy of a medication.
Describe possible chemical reactions, side effects, or other negative reactions a patient may experience from a medication.
Explain correct handling, storage, and disposal of a medication.
Competency 3: Apply the principles and practices of cultural competence with regard to pharmacological interventions.
Explain how a patient education tool adheres to the principles and practices of cultural competence.
Competency 4: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, professional, and consistent with the expectations of a nursing professional.
Write content clearly and logically with correct use of grammar, punctuation, and mechanics.
Correctly format paper, citations, and references using current APA style.
Context
Do any of these sound familiar?
“I felt better right away, so I did not think I had to take the rest of the medicine.”
“Every time I took it, I threw up, so I just did not take it anymore.”
“I lost my health insurance a couple of months ago and cannot afford my medication all the time. I take it when I can afford to buy it. This is better than nothing, right?”
In addition to administering medications, nurses are assigned the responsibility of educating patients about the proper use of the medications that have been prescribed for them. Not an easy task! With all the demands on a nurse’s time, it is easy to fall into the habit of reciting instructions without taking the time to make sure those instructions have been understood. When considering patient education, you have to understand the differences between drug reactions, interactions, allergies, and individual variations in drug responses.
In order to promote better patient safety and quality outcomes, the instruction that nurses provide must be patient-centered and clearly understood. Proper education helps patients learn about their medications, how to take them correctly, avoid potentially harmful errors or drug interactions, and have the desired quality outcome.
Medication errors can occur at any point in the drug administration process. As the last person who touches a medication before the patient actually takes it, it is vital that nurses are familiar with the process of administration and be able to evaluate any discrepancies.
Questions to Consider
To deepen your understanding, you are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of your professional community.
How do the rights of patient medication affect the ability of a nurse to make sure a patient receives medication that is ordered in a safe, effective manner?
What types of communication tools, such as the Pyxis machine, facilitate effective communication and reduce or eliminate medication errors?

You should obtain a policy from a healthcare organization related to a contemporary work site issue about safety, quality, staffing, advanced practice nursing, education, or other health related topic.
Topic: Policy Summary and Critique related to Quality and Safety

You should obtain a policy from a healthcare organization related to a contemporary work site issue about safety, quality, staffing, advanced practice nursing, education, or other health related topic. The initial thread should contain a summary of the policy including a description of the policy, rationale, outcomes, such as what defines success (i.e., adequate staffing per the policy, no back injuries related to a no lift policy, etc).

You should relate the policy to quality and safety standards based on Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) standards and readings in the text.
Does the policy increase the safety or quality of the provision of heath care?
You should also discuss the following considerations: socioeconomic, legal, ethical, and political issues relevant to the making of the policy.
Consider reviewing political viewpoints and positions of a professional organization such as the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the impact that the organizations viewpoint may have on the development of the policy.
If you are not employed in a health care setting, you may use a policy from any health care organization. Policies such as staffing/patient ratios, no lift policies, fall protocols, policies that support National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), or the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health care Providers, and Systems (HCAHPS ) are topics of interest, but you may choose other policies related to quality and safety as wel
