PARTIAL CORRELATION /SUMMARY OF RECENT RESEARCH

This paper is due tomorrow by midday, it is in two section A and B , and each section should have a separate reference list at the end of the section. APA is to be use throughout the entire paper. proper grammar and spellings must be respected. For section A I have attached two articles to chose one from and use to complete that particular section , and youmust paste the reference at the beginning of that section in APA as mention in the question. and for section A you cangather information from your own sources to respond , and remember to include in text citation as it is critical . a reference list must also be included at the end of this section in APA format. The paper must respond detailed to all the points mentioned in the assignment questions . and again APA is critical .

SECTION A (1.5pages)
For this paper I will send two articles for you to choose from and use one to complete SECTION A of this paper. APA must be respected and all the 4 points listed below must be clearly outlined in the paper using APA format. The paper should be in total 3 pages , 1.5 pages for each section plus the reference list at the end of each section.
Go to the online library and find a recent (no older than 3 years) article reporting the results of a nursing or health research study in which correlation analysis is used
Post the reference using APA format at the top of your response and then provide a BRIEF one paragraph summary of the study.
Identify the null hypothesis and alternative hypotheses (you will need to write the null in your own words as this is not provided in most research reports).
Share the correlation analysis statistic that is reported.
Address the type of data required and whether assumptions of the test were met. In order to do this, you will need to state: -What was the Dependent Variable (DV) and at what level was it measured -What was the Independent Variable (IV) and at what level it was measured You will then compare this to the type of data required and whether assumptions of the test were met.
Briefly discuss whether the finding in your study is statistically significant and what this means. Respond to your peers’ by discussing the possible implications of their posted study.
At the end of this section compile the references in APA format .
SECTION B(1.5pages).
From other sources, briefly describe partial correlation in your own words.
Create an example of an imaginary quantitative nursing study you would design that would use partial correlation.
Identify the dependent, independent, and confounding variables.
Discuss why a partial correlation is the most appropriate test to use in this study.
In text citations is critical for this paper and must be use throughout the entire paper, and include a reference…

What would be your response to physicians in your organization who expressed their dissatisfaction with CDS and asked for modifications?
ASSIGNMENT IS DUE SUNDAY NOV 13TH AT 10:00AM

FOR TOM MUTUNGA ONLYYYY

Q: What would be your response to physicians in your organization who expressed their dissatisfaction with CDS and asked for modifications?

A: If physicians from my organization express dissatisfaction with our CDS, I would act as swiftly as possible to determine the root cause of the issue. I would like to understand what part of the CDS they are having issues about. Is it with excessive alerts? Slow response time? If it is possible, I would like to see for myself what exactly is the physician experiencing, so I can either spend a couple of hours observing what he/she is doing with permission of course. In my current workplace we usually do system workflow observation through remote access so as not to interfere too much with the physician’s routine.

Q: How could you work with your IT vendors to improve your existing systems?

A: Depending on the amount of medication requests, I may have to organize a meeting with my team and vendor representative in order to come up with an efficient plan as soon as possible. This may require brainstorming ideas that can make the system flow more efficiently and to the physicians liking, without jeopardizing the system`s own functionality.

Q: What other ideas can be generated and implemented to facilitate the use of clinical decision support?

A: As clinical decision support becomes an integrated part of clinical medicine, physicians will need to learn how to modify their workflows so clinical decision support moves from being an annoyance that disrupts it to an instrumental tool that helps them deliver better care. With that being said, physicians, IT vendors and IT support staff will have to work together in order to continuously improve CDS system, and minimize the occurrence of an alert fatigue.

To gain greater understanding of a client’s business and industry there are several resources one can look to. Those include reading industry trade publications, the corporate charter and bylaws, minutes of director and shareholder meetings. You could also review financial statements and confer with management as well as touring the company’s plants and offices. Taking the time to gain an understanding of the industry is an important step in beginning an audit as it sets a frame of reference in which the auditor plans and executes the audit. This helps to set expectations as well as identify areas where special consideration might be necessary when evaluating unusual transactions or considering the validity of certain transactions within a business.

To gain a better understanding of a company and industry you could review the company’s financials, speak to a previous or current financial advisor at the company, review the company’s 10k, speak with management on their operations and processes. You could go back thru past financials. I would also even pull out the internet and search around at similiar industries and companies to gain a little more knowledge and also see what could be changed within the company or make better. Understanding the business to be an financial servicer is different from an audit because you’re more interested in the company’s numbers and performance. You want to see the company strive and perform at its best, sell great products and improve in any way the can.

Running Head: RESEACH PAPER ON CORRELATION BETWEEN SUBSTANCE DEPENDENCE AND TRAUMA Name: Number: University:

Running Head: RESEACH PAPER ON CORRELATION BETWEEN SUBSTANCE DEPENDENCE AND TRAUMA Name: Number: University: Tutor: Date: RESEACH PAPER ON CORRELATION BETWEEN SUBSTANCE DEPENDENCE AND TRAUMA Research Question What is the correlation between substance dependence and trauma? Objectives There have been many case reported of resulting to substance use after personally experiencing trauma or witnessing a traumatic experience happening to someone else. Others have been reported where trauma is experienced after use of hard drugs or alcohol mostly in people who are already addicts. Different people react differently when they face certain traumatic situations either through withdrawal from the public, depression, stress or substance use. All these are different reactions to trauma experiences. Other individuals are able to hold the trauma and withstand its effects by not reacting in a negative way. Due to the abundance of such reports we sought to find out why individuals who have had traumatic experience seek result to substance abuse. Traumatic cases are many and can result from victimization in family, bullying in schools, car accidents, sexual abuse like rape, neglect, physical abuse, divorce, and separation from parents or friends in form of death, disappointment serious illness, falls or surgery. We also wanted to know what kind of traumatic experiences would most likely predispose individuals to substance dependence. Research has also indicated that substance abuse and dependence can make an individual prone to post trauma disorders. This has been the case in many adolescents and youth. In America it is estimated tat at least 80 percent of individuals have experimented on drugs. This basically translates to more people being predisposed to experience trauma. With these facts we wanted to find out the correlation between substance dependence and trauma by finding out why people result to substance abuse after traumatic experiences and how many cases of trauma are due to substance abuse or dependence. Introduction According to Giaconia, Reinherz, Paradis and Stashwick (2003), researchers have tried to explain the relationship between substance abuse and trauma in so many ways but what stands out in these researches is that trauma predisposes an individual to substance abuse and substance abuse increases the risk of experiencing trauma. How does this happen? Traumatic experiences are usually a painful reminder to many and they cause deep emotional experiences. In order to try and escape this individuals turn to self medicating them using drugs like alcohol and other psychotic drugs to try and numb themselves. Substance dependence follows soon after trauma exposure. The associated traumatic stress makes it even hard to quit substance abuse as even reminders create cravings with people on transition in treating the trauma and drug dependence. Previous studies have established a link between alcohol and risky behavior engagement which expose the youth to traumatic experiences like driving under influence of alcohol, walking in neighborhoods that are not safe and hitchhiking. People who are already hooked to substance abuse are also less able to handle traumatic experiences due to functional destructions. This is because people with dependence on substances do not have the skills to cope with trauma, (Ford, Hawke, Alessi, Ledgerwood % Petry, 2007). Research has also tried to figure out whether individual personality is important to figure out vulnerability to substance dependence and trauma. When exactly does a person experience trauma? After multiple exposures to traumatic experiences or one time is enough to cause trauma? Also what is it that triggers individuals to result to substance abuse which leads to dependence? Anti social behavior is the bridge way between trauma and substance dependence, (Livesly, 2001). Most males than females are mostly the ones who result to substance abuse after traumatic experience. This has been explained to be caused by superiority complex. Males have a tendency to act as if everything is fine so as not to admit an emotional weakness or defeat. Because they never speak out or seek help, their problems keep piling up and the only way out becomes drugs. This resort is so that they can feel at the top of the situation or so that they can forget the traumatic experiences by numbing their brains and nerves. Females have however shown vulnerability to experience trauma if they are dependent on substances. This likely hood is because generally female species is weak emotionally and the fact that drugs increase this vulnerability, a situation can lead to trauma experience. Sample population S

Metabolic and Health Consequences of Folic Acid and Vitamin B12 Deficiency.According to the Food and Agricultural Organization (2001), folic acid deficiency refers to the inadequacy of folic acid in the diet.
Introduction

According to the Food and Agricultural Organization (2001), folic acid deficiency refers to the inadequacy of folic acid in the diet. The condition is popularly known as folate deficiency anemia. Inadequate dietary intake of folates or excessive body loses of folate causes folic acid deficiency. Various biological body situations such as certain anemia, kidney dialysis, liver disease, malabsorption, pregnancy and lactation and tobacco smoking increase the demand of folic acid by the body. Medications such as anticonvulsants, metformin, methotrexate, sulfasalazine, triamterene and oral contraceptives also influence folic acid utilization by the body (Food and Agricultural Organization, 2001). Signs that reveal the condition in humans include loss of appetite and weight, general body weakness, sore tongue, heart palpitations, headaches, irritability and behavioral disorders. The deficiency causes pregnant women to conceive low birth weight and premature infants having neural tube illnesses. Extreme suffering from folic acid deficiency among adults results in macrocytic and megaloblastic anemia. Observations reveal that children born with folate deficiency have slow rate of growth. On the other hand, vitamin B12 deficiency refers to inadequate amounts of vitamin B12 in the blood stream. The long-term effect of this deficiency is permanent impairment of the nervous tissue. The vitamin was discovered from the study of pernicious anemia, an autoimmune disorder that kills the parietal cells of the stomach (Jacoby & Youngson, 2004). The parietals cells are essential in the production of the intrinsic factor. The prevalence rates of these deficiencies are alarming, and individuals should be encouraged to ingest vitamin B12 supplements and seek medical attention on improper absorption of vitamin. With respect to this, this paper discusses metabolic and health consequences of folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency.

Highlight what a health professional must take into account for caring for the patient in the hospital.

You are a student undergoing your practical rotation at one of the leading hospitals in Perth. Your Clinical Supervisor has asked you to research the culture of a patient you are providing care for.
Mr. Kim Seng Lim, a 75 year old Chinese man, has been admitted to the hospital complaining of chest pains. He migrated from Singapore to Australia, after the death of his wife. Mr. Lim lives in Perth with his son and family
In this assessment, students are asked to research the Chinese culture. Write an essay of 1000 words on caring for a patient from this particular culture. Students are advised to use the lecture notes as a guide. Please be mindful that the lecture notes cannot be used as a reference. It is most important for students to highlight what a health professional must take into account for caring for the patient in the hospital. Consider the following: • How this cultural group understands life processes; • How this cultural group defines health and illness; • What this cultural group does to maintain wellness; • What this cultural group believes to be the causes of illness; • How do traditional healers cure and care for members of this cultural group and • How the cultural background of the nurse influences the way in which care is delivered.
